What's the secret...

I don't get Valentine's Day. I participate in all of the other completely ridiculous, pagan or econo-driven holidays but this one baffles me. Maybe I'm old & crusty or perhaps I am just lacking in romance. I don't need a special day to tell any random person that they are loved. There are people who I like, some I even love but I don't need a $3.75 card to tell them that. If I don't wear pink or red on February 14th are there useless holiday police who will find me & issue me a citation? I can't remember a Valentine's Day that was, well memorable. Oh, one year I did get married on that weekend - but then there was also the year I got divorced on that day too...
